Osmundaceae

Not in A Utah Flora; this family is not found natively in Utah.

Key Features

This family has strong dimorphism of fronds.  Either the entire frond, or some pinna on each frond, are completely reproductive and distinctly different from the vegetative fronds or pinna. The sporangia contain more spores than typical leptosporangia, and they develop somewhat intermediate between leptosporangia and eusporangia.
